Pangeran Jayakarta Cemetery Arrangement Constrained

The arrangement of Pangeran Jayakarta Cemetery, which has been attempted for nearly four years, still meets obstacles. One of those obstacles is the residents who ask for land compensation exceeding the Tax Object Sales Value (NJOP).

“We offer land compensation in accordance to NJOP price around Rp 4 million per meter, but the residents ask for Rp 12 million per meter,” informed Head of East Jakarta Culture Sub-Department, Husnizon Nizar, Tuesday, (10/28).
According to Nizar, this year his department allocated Rp 9 billion to free land as wide as 1,500 square meters. But, the land that can be acquisitioned and paid in accordance to NJOP is only as wide as 450 square meters worth Rp 2.7 billion. Meanwhile, the rest Rp 6.3 billion will be returned to the regional treasury.
West Jakarta Needs Land for Cemetery“The total budget around Rp 9 billion is for acquisition of land as wide as 1,500 square meters, but the land that can be acquisitioned is only as wide as 450 square meters with payment as much as Rp 2.7 billion,” he stated.
Later, Nizar continued, Pangeran Jayakarta Cemetery will be set as a religion tourism destination with culture and local wisdom concept through the construction of some religious facilities.
“We have concept to preserve cultural heritage by building some facilities like entrance door, public hall, cemetery cottage, parking lot, and other supporting facilities. Hopefully Pangeran Jayakarta Cemetery could grow and become a study center for the scholars,” he uttered.
