Thousand Islands Regency is determined to make various efforts and strategic plans to prevent stunting cases in the region.

Thousand Islands Regent, Junaedi invited all regional agencies (OPDs) to work together and collaborate in reducing stunting cases.
"It is not only Health Sub-agency's duty, but it needs cooperation from all parties. Our target is 0 percent of stunting case in Thousand Islands," he asserted when opening Review on Performance of Convergence Action for Stunting Prevention and Reduction in 2021, at a hotel in Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/23).
Central Jakarta is Committed to Preventing StuntingAccording to him, stunting could be prevented by providing facilities and infrastructure that can support improvement of nutrition for both toddlers and adults.
"We also need to carry out 8 action plans, namely analyzing situation, making activity plans, discussing about stunting, issuing Regent regulations on urban village's roles, measuring and publishing stunting action plans, and reviewing performance annually," he explained.
Meanwhile, Thousand Islands Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendi mentioned, some efforts have been made to reduce stunting rates, including to hold orientation for communicating behavior change, orientation for health cadres, orientation for monitoring growth and development, orientation for health workers about communication strategies, orientation for health workers about nutrition management.
There are also parenting workshops for health workers and cadres, Antenatal Care (ANC) orientation for health workers, STBM stunting orientation, service orientation for prospective brides and grooms, EPPGBM evaluation, declaring Open Defecation Free (ODF), monitoring and evaluating Exclusive breastfeeding result, and orientation for Posyandu coaches.
"All those plans should be done to achieve target of stunting rate up to 0 percent in Thousand Islands," he closed.
