The West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has been started widening the water channel on Jalan Merpati Block 100, RT/10, Meruya Utara Urban Village, Kembangan.
This channel which was originally 40-50 centimeters wide is widened to 80 centimeters with 229 meters length
Drainage Maintenance Division Head, Wawan Kurniawan said it had been ongoing since Monday (6/21) and was predicted to be complete in three to four weeks ahead.

Channel alongside Jalan Manunggal in Meruya Selatan WidenedHe explained it was done to follow up on the results of a recess for members of the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD).
"We're doing this, as the channel can't accommodate water optimally, especially during heavy rains," he said.
To execute it, he had sent as many as 14 personnel to the location. As planned, they would also attach the u-ditch.
"By doing so, the area can be free of inundation," he stated.
