By the End of April, Channel Normalization on Jalan Kartini X Dalam Completed

The 122-meter-long water channel located on Jalan Kartini X Dalam, RT 03 and 04/RW 09 Kartini Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta is being normalized.
The progress work has touched around 30 percent so far
Sawah Besar Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head Yusuf Sumardani explained the normalization was realized following the proposal of the 2020/2021 Regional Development Planning Forums (Musrenbang).
"The progress work has touched around 30 percent so far and is and targeted to be complete by the end of the upcoming April," he stated, Friday (3/25).
Channel Normalization on Jalan Suci Reaches 80 PercentIt was carried out manually through 15 workers, starting from dredging mud, installing the framework, casting channel walls, and installing manhole cover plates.
"This channel is elevated about 60 centimeters from the previous 40 centimeters using river stones," he added.
Irawan, a resident of RT 03/RW 09, Kartini Urban Village hoped that the water could flow smoothly into the connecting channel on Jalan Dwi Warna after it was done.
"So, it doesn't overflow and inundate our residential again," he hoped.
