The city of Jakarta will be plunged into darkness for an hour Saturday (7/2) to raise awareness about energy saving and carbon emission reduction.

Jakartans will see buildings and roads turn off their lights from 20:30 to 21:30, starting from Jakarta Government offices, except for hospitals, health centers, clinics, major arterial roads, arterial roads in five municipalities of Jakarta, and so forth.
Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency Head Asep Kuswanto conveyed the power outage would be implemented at seven icons of Jakarta, consisting of Jakarta City Hall Building, Monas and its fountain, Arjuna Wiwaha Statue, Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout, Youth Monument, and its fountain, Heroes Monument, and General Sudirman Statue.

- East Jakarta: Jalan Dr. Sumarno, Jalan Raden Inten, and East Jakarta Mayor Office Complex
