Jakarta Launches Student Voice for City Podcast

The Jakarta administration has initiated a collaborative program for the advancement of the city, namely the Student Voices for the City Podcast.

Ideas and arguments become instruments to create a new, better future

The first series of Student Voices for the City Postcast activities was carried out collaboratively between Jakarta Education Agency (Disdik), Jakarta Public Policy Center for Jakarta Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), as well as Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP).

In the first episode, the Student Voice for the City Podcast took the topic of the Third Room by inviting Audina Pramesti, a student of Fiscal Administration from University of Indonesia; Jannatul Ma'wah, a Non-formal Education Student at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University; a Student of Physics from University of Indonesia, Asyifa Rahman Hakim.

It presented a speaker from Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Technical Executer, Muslih Muharrik.

At that time, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan assessed that the Student Voice for the City Podcast was the first podcast in Indonesia, where the government provided a platform for discussion with students about the development of a city.

According to him, in its history, students emerged as the spearhead of the struggle. Young people bring newness and different perspectives.

“Ideas and arguments become instruments to create a new, better future. Based on that, the Jakarta administration initiated a Podcast of Student Voices for the City," he expressed, Friday (9/30)

He explained that this activity was presented to open a space for interaction, discussion space, and present solutions, including hearing ideas, breakthroughs, and even dreams.

The ideas and ideas presented later are expected to be used as material to advance Jakarta, now and tomorrow.

"It aims at realizing Jakarta, which we have called the Global City, the City of Collaboration, and we hope this is a place where this city facilitates young people's ideas to become material for policy directions in our city," he explained.

Extension Affairs Sub-Coordinator for PMPTSP Agency, Rinaldi said that according to the topic, young people in Jakarta could participate in social media by sharing their aspirations with the hashtag #RuangKetigaJakarta.

The discussion in the first episode of this podcast discussed the background of ideas, meanings, and concepts, as well as the facilities or infrastructure of the third room.

He added that today was part of a new history in which the government provided a platform for discussion with students about the development of a city.

"In this podcast, we will discuss something that generates ideas and ideas and aspirations for the development of a city, " he stated.
