Mercedez Benz, Don't Inferior to Regulatin Govt, Djarot Says

Five double-decker buses type Mercedes Benz which are granted by the Tahir Foundation in December last year has yet to be operated due to discrepancy thing on the Government Regulation (PP) No. 55/2012 on Vehicle. Hence, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat, asked the Ministry of Transportation to revise the regulation.

"The regulation must be revied. Don't lose with government regulation made in 2012, this is already 2015," stressed Djarot, in the office of Transportation Ministry, Tuesday (2/3).

PT Transjakarta to Manage Double-decker Buses

 

He acknowledged he will hold a meeting with Transportation Ministry to discuss such bus operational. He also allows to conduct a trial. "We will discuss it in the meeting. If they do not believe, just test out the bus," he expressed.

 

Ministry's Public Communications Center Head, JA Barata justified there will be a meeting with the city administration on Friday (2/6). As for the revision, he could not say much because of its authority lies in President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo. "If you want the revision, just ask Mr. President," he disclosed.

 

He explains they never intended to complicate the operational of the five double-decker buses, as long as all safety aspects and its roadworthiness appropriate to the law.

As reported before, those five buses cannot be operated because of they have yet to meet the requirements listed in the Government Regulation No. 55/2012. The regulation mentions, the bus must have a weight of 21-24 tons. As for the bus from Tahir Foundation is only
