Here is Traffic Diversion Amid New Year's Eve Festival 2023

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) plans to divert traffic on Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman from Saturday (12/31) night to Sunday (1/1) dawn amid the New Year's Eve Festival 2023.

Traffic will be diverted in stage at 6 PM, adjusting to traffic conditions in the field

According to Syafrin Liputo, Head of Jakarta Dishub, there would be seven stages along Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman during the New Year's Eve Festival. The event is scheduled to take place from 8 PM to 2 AM.

"Traffic will be diverted in stage at 6 PM, adjusting to traffic conditions in the field," he expressed, in a written statement, Wednesday (12/28).

Welcoming New Year 2023, City Has Various Events at Some Points

The seven stages prepared were stage 1 in Sarinah area, stage 2 in Bundaran HI area, stage 3 in Dukuh Atas area, stage 4 in Sudirman JPO area, stage 5 in Bendungan Hilir area, as well as stages 6 and 7 in SCBD area.

The following is a traffic diversion prepared:

1. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman

- Bundaran Patung Pemuda (The Youth Monument)

2. Jalan MH Thamrin

- Bundaran Air Mancur

Including Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan, Jalur Lambat (Slow Lane), Kupingan Ahok and Kupingan Semanggi (Gatsu), Jalan Bendungan Hilir, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, and Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur

Kupingan Kolong Sudirman, Jalan Kota Bumi, Jalan Baturaja, Jalan Teluk Betung, Jalan Kebon Kacang, Jalan Sunda, Imam Bonjol Traffic Light, Jalan Sumenep Tosari, Landmark (Indocement), Jalan Setiabudi, Jalan Prof Dr Satrio, Jalan Masjid (Sampoerna), Jalan Garnisun & Under Semanggi, Jalur Lambat (Slow Lane), Kupingan Ahok and Kupingan Semanggi (Gatsu), SCBD and Jalan Tulodong Atas 2 Samping CIMB

Then access the road from east to west and vice versa which can still be traversed, starting from Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, and Jalan Galunggung - Penjernihan 1. Jalan Kebon Sirih from the west, while the east it closes at Agus Salim Intersection

From the north, traffic is diverted to Jalan Asia Afrika - Jalan Gerbang Pemuda - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan KS Tubun - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Cideng -  etc, or through Jalan HR Rasuna Said - Jalan Prof Dr. Satrio - Jl KH. Mas Mansyur - vice versa

From the north to south, traffic is diverted to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan - Jalan M Ridwan Rais - Jalan Tugu Tani - Jalan Menteng - Jalan Cut Mutia - Jalan Dr. GSSJ Samratulangi - Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto - Jalan HR Rasuna Said, or through Jalan Gunung Sahari - Jalan Kramat Raya - Jalan Salemba - Jalan Proklamasi - Jalan Tambak - Jalan Prof Dr. Saharjo, etc

From the west to east and vice versa that can still be passed: Jalan Budi KemuIiaan - Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Kebon Sirih (West-East), Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, and Jalan Galunggung - Jalan Penjernihan 1

If there is traffic congestion, he emphasized that the closure options will be expanded from Simpang Harmoni to the north, Jalan Budi Kemulian to the east, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan to the west, Millenium Intersection to the east, Jalan Wahid Hasyim Tanah Abang to the east and Jalan Wahid Hasyim Sabang to west. The road closure applies situationally depending on density.

"Situational settings for hotel/embassy office/hospital guests along Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Sudirman are done to adjust to the settings that have been set," he added.

For visitors who use private vehicles can use parking facilities at 40 locations. These locations will be open until the closing deadline for Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

Even though a parking location has been prepared, the public is urged to use public transportation modes to get to the location. Meanwhile, the setting for Transjakarta Bus Corridor 1 starting at 10 PM until 1 AM will be applied situationally.

Transjakarta from the south only serves up to the Polda Transjakarta bus stop, turn left onto Jalan Gatot Subroto - Kota. From the north, Transjakarta only serves up to Harmoni Bus Stop, turn right on Jalan Suryopranoto - Blok M.

For MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta operations, it is planned to arrive at 2 AM, likewise, the Jabodetabek commuter line will operate until around 2 AM.

“We hope that road users can adjust to the diversions, obey the traffic signs and instructions from officers and prioritize road safety," he stated.
