The Jakarta Provincial Government held a coordination meeting with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in order to follow up on President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's directive about strengthening the one data policy in socio-economic registration (Regsosek) which covers the entire population.
We asked BPS to support Jakarta with data
This meeting was to discuss data synchronization in order to eradicate extreme poverty and stunting in Jakarta. Data synchronization was conducted before the government used it in formulating policies in Jakarta.
"We asked BPS to support Jakarta with data. Then, Jakarta sent the data to Regsosek in December 2022. And today we are syncing the policies of the data we send,” expressed Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, at Jakarta City Hall, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Friday (2/10).

He asserted that the current data is detailed, namely based on name and address, thus the Jakarta Government is ready to succeed in one data for Regsosek with existing data. According to him, the data that will be synchronized with BPS are CARIK data, Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), and the Targeting for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Elimination (P3KE).
"We combine all the data. Then we sent it to BPS for research and cleaning. BPS results in data are useful for the Jakarta Government for targeting accuracy in providing social assistance, KJP, KJS, basic food assistance, and nutritional assistance. Everything is related to tackling extreme poverty and stunting," he expressed.
He hoped that the provision of social assistance and other assistance to residents who are in extreme poverty groups can be promoted so that they can leave the group. Residents who fall into the poor group do not fall into the extreme poor group.
BPS Head, Margo Yuwono added that if data synchronization has been carried out, the target policy program will be single and can be divided between the center and the regions, as well as between agencies in the Jakarta Government.
He added that the Jakarta Government would become a national prototype regarding the one data policy for Regsosek, namely data synchronization could be carried out between BPS and local governments.
"Hopefully, it will be an example of how we build good data management in Indonesia. If Jakarta has developed its synchronization governance, it remains only to be replicated in other regions, thus nationally we can have good governance. Thus, the government in implementing its policies can use one Indonesian data," he stated.
