His visit opened a series of tour activities to several schools in Jakarta. On that occasion, he urged students to continuously improve literacy culture and not spread hoax news or information.
"I'm here to tour the school, including going to high (SMP), junior, and elementary schools (SD). Today, SMAN 71 is my first visit, where I want to prompt students to always improve their achievements. Currently, this school is ranked 18th. Of course, they can move up the rankings if they work hard together," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
Joko Agus Setyono Appointed as Newly City SecretaryHe then reminded the ease of accessing information and news must be addressed wisely. In the future, students would face more challenges amid the rapid development of information technology which makes hoax news or information easily accessible. Therefore, he invited students to think about truth, impact, and benefits before disseminating information or news.
He also urged students to use their free time by reading lots of books, being organized at school, and actively participating in extracurricular activities. With a culture of literacy such as reading, their achievements would increase. By reading diligently, your knowledge increases, thus it can ward off hoaxes, including strengthening compassion for others.
"The easier access, the more we have to be vigilant. If you have free time, please use it with positive activities. What's more, access to gain knowledge is easy, one hour a day studying sciences that are not taught by the teachers. Then, I also ask students to continue to maintain good manners, maintain school rules, respect teachers, and tolerance must be present in each of us," he explained.
He urged teachers to keep the spirit of providing the best knowledge, advice, and views to students.
"Happy learning for achievement," he closed.
After the ceremony, he made a sudden inspection (sidak) of the Duren Sawit Sub-district Health Center, which is right in front of SMAN 71.
At that time, he was accompanied by Duren Sawit Sub-district Head, Musa Syafrudin, Duren Sawit Sub-district Health Center Head, Surnesi Handayani, and SMAN 71 Principal, Acep Mahmudin.
