Official Vehicles Provision in Jakarta Must Adhere to Regulations

The Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to running the wheels of government by upholding the principle of legal compliance, including in terms of providing official vehicles as operations that support executive duties as protectors and public servants.

This also applies to the Jakarta Government

Governor's individual official vehicle standards throughout Indonesia have been regulated in the Home Minister Regulation (Permendagri) No. 7/2006 on Standardization of Local Government Work Facilities and Infrastructure, in which the standard official vehicle is one Jeep with 4,200 cc capacity and one sedan with 3,000 cc capacity.

"This also applies to the Jakarta Government, which has been further regulated in Gubernatorial Regulation No. 119/2020 on Management of Service Vehicles, in which the governor is provided with individual official vehicles in the form of one jeep and one sedan. During the era of the previous governors, the Jakarta Government used a Jeep Land Cruiser (Jeep LC) car with a price range of Rp 2.3 billion," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Sunday (3/5).

Jakarta Ensures Alertness in Disaster Management

Currently, the Jakarta Governor's individual official vehicles are in the process of transferring their ownership to the previous governor who served more than 4 years by Government Regulation No. 20/2022 on Amendments to Government Regulation No. 84/2014 on Sales of State or Regional Property in the Form of Individual Service Vehicles.

Therefore, this year, the Jakarta Government has again budgeted for the governor's personal official vehicles in accordance with the standards set out in the existing the Home Ministry and Gubernatorial regulations.

Currently, the Acting Governor still uses the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres)'s official car from the Ministry of State Secretary. Regarding the provision of personal official vehicles for the governor in Jakarta, he only asked for the standard Kijang Innova official car to be provided, below the standard for the governor's official vehicles, namely jeeps and sedans," he explained.

However, according to Presidential Instruction No. 7/2022 on the Use of Battery-Based Electric Motorized Vehicles as Government Operational Service Vehicles, all state and regional officials are advised to use electric cars.

"Thus, until now, the provision of individual governor's official vehicles has not been carried out, as the Jakarta Government is making adjustments to the governor regulations related to the management of official vehicles," he asserted.
