Thousands of Tourists Swarm to Seribu Islands During School Holidays

The Seribu Islands Tourism and Economy (Parekraf) Sub-agency has noted that as many as 5,136 people flocked to tourist destination across Seribu Islands during school holidays, precisely from June 24 to 25, 2023.

Most tourists are from domestic and foreign tourists

Promotion Attraction and Creative Economy Division Head, Ahmad Farihin said, last weekend, tourists were known to cross through Muara Angke, Marina Ancol, Tanjung Pasir, and Rawasaban ports.

"Most tourists are from domestic and foreign tourists," he expressed, Tuesday (6/26).

Long Holiday, 7,851 Tourists Swarm Seribu Islands

He detailed tourists who came from Muara Angke Port totaled 6,732 people, Marina Ancol Port 1,587 people, Tanjung Pasir Port 666 people, and Rawasaban Port 75 people.

"We also predict the number of tourists will increase by 50 percent during the upcoming Idul Adha holiday. Of course, we and the three pillars are ready to do monitoring at the location," he explained.

He added tourists come to visit various islands, both resorts and settlements. The high number of tourists is because access to the Islands is very easy to reach.

"We're waiting for holiday momentum like this. The more tourists, it will increase the income of residents," he stated.
