Although the implementation of the Regional Head Election will be held in 2017, yet the General Election Commission (KPU) and City Administration began to conduct preparation. The preparation is including population data, which aims to minimize the errors in the upcoming election.

If the number of participation is increasing, it will have an impact on the level of legitimacy. There must be increasing

By doing so, there will be no chaos in population data. This is because it is very influential on the final voter list (DPT).

E-ID Card Service Opened in City Council

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat asked Jakarta Population and Civil Register Department to compile and spruce the population data. It is targeted to finish at the end of 2015, where Jakartans already have e-ID card.

“The population data will be processed by Population and Civil Register Department to get validity of the data. Considering many people have not received the card. We will record and ensure them this year, whether they have the card or not,” he uttered, in KPU on Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (3/18).

This former Mayor of Blitar furthered although the election is still 2 years away, it needs to be coordinated. His party promised will assist the KPU to smoothen the election. "We have a lot of time to assure, whether the number of voters are 99 percent or 100 percent," he stated.

Meanwhile, Jakarata KPU Head, Sumarno exclaimed his party did coordination earlier to minimize the errors. Additionally, it could increase citizens' participation. "If the number of participation is increasing, it will have an impact on the level of legitimacy. There must be increasing," he hoped.

Djarot recorded the election in 2012 in first round, the number of participants was 64.5 percent. Then in second round, its number increased 68 percent. "Hopefully, in 2017, the participants would increase and could be a success benchmark. Thus any mistake can be minimized,” he stated.
