Dishub Prepares Traffic Diversion on New Year's Eve 2024

As reported earlier, the Malam Muda Mudi Jakarta Kota Global Festival will be held along Jalan MH Thamrin - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman on Sunday (12/31).

The festival, which carries the concept of Car Free Night (CFN), will be enlivened with the Jakarnaval decorative car parade (Jakarta Karnaval). It will take place from 7 PM to 1 AM, with special exceptions for the Jakarnaval decorative car parade and traffic control officers.

This Jakarnaval parade will start at 9.30 PM and is expected to arrive at 11 PM, with the starting route from the Jakarnaval Stage at the Southwest Gate of Monas/Patung Kuda (Horse Statue) - Jalan MH Thamrin - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - turning around at Bundaran Patung Pemuda Membangun(Youth Statue) - return north to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - finish at FX Sudirman via Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan.

Hence, the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) implements traffic engineering in the form of road closures at 26 points and alternative routes diverting traffic flow, starting at 7 PM - 1 AM.

"We implemented closures and diversions of traffic flow on the Malam Muda Mudi Jakarta Kota Global. We urge the public to obey the applicable rules and follow the directions of officers at the location, as well as prioritize road safety. We also strongly urge residents to use public transportation when going to event locations where we have synergized with public transportation organizers in Jakarta, such as the Indonesian Commuter Train and BUMD in the transportation sector to adjust operational times, thus facilitating people's mobility," explained Jakarta Dishub Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta, as quoted by Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Friday (12/29 ).

He explained that the road sections that would be closed and alternative routes diverting traffic flow. As for roads and access to the roads that will be closed were namely Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (starting from Bundaran Senayan to Bundaran HI), Jalan MH Thamrin (starting from Bundaran HI to Bundaran Patung Kuda), Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan, Kupingan Semanggi (Gatot Subroto) slow lane on the west side, Jalan Bendungan Hilir, Jalan KH. Mas Mansyur, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 5, Jalan Kupingan BNI 46, Jalan Kota Bumi and Jalan Baturaja, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Kebon Kacang.

Then Jalan Sunda, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Sumenep Tosari, Landmark (Indocement), Jalan Setiabudi, Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio, Jalan Masjid (Sampoerna), Jalan Garnisun dan Kolong Semanggi, Kupingan Semanggi (Gatot Subroto) slow lane on the east side, SCBD, Jalan Tulodong Atas 2/Samping CIMB, Simpang Jalan Budi Kemuliaan and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Kebon Sirih from west/east direction closed at Agus Salim Intersection, Jalan K.H Wahid Hasyim, and Jalan Majapahit.

Alternative traffic diversion routes will be implemented as follows:

1. Traffic from South to North is diverted via Jalan Hang Lekir I - Jalan Hang Tuah - Jalan Hang Lekir IV - Jalan Hang Lekir II - Jalan Hang Lekir I - Jalan Asia Afrika - Jalan Gerbang Pemuda - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan K.S. Tubun - Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur - Jalan Cideng - etc. Or can go through Jalan HR Rasuna Said - Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - etc, and in the opposite direction (North to South)

2. Traffic from North to South is diverted via Jalan Ir. H. Juanda - Jalan Pos - Jalan Gedung Seni - Jalan Lapangan Utara - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat - Jalan Pejambon - Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais towards Jalan HR Rasuna Said - etc. Or you can go via Jalan Gunung Sahari - Jalan Kramat Raya - Jalan Salemba - Jalan Proklik - Jalan Tambak - Jalan Prof. Dr. Sahardjo - etc

3. Traffic from East to West is diverted via Jalan M.I. Ridwan Rais - Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur - Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara - Jalan Abdul Muis - etc. Meanwhile, reverse traffic from the West to the East is diverted via Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Majapahit on the West side - Jalan Ir. Haji Juanda - Jalan Pos - etc. Or the motorists can pass via Jalan Galunggung - Jalan R.M. Margono Djojohadikoesoemo - Jalan Penjernihan - etc.

There are 24 parking locations available for New Year's Eve 2024 celebration activities around the event venue, with a capacity for 17,493 motorbikes, 21,914 cars, and 192 buses. Several parking pocket points are IRTI Monas, Pertamina Central Office, Wisma Nusantara and Hotel Nikko, Wisma Mandiri, Wisma 46, Intiland Tower, Gelora Bung Karno, Plaza Senayan, FX Sudirman, and others.

Even though there is traffic engineering on several roads, Syafrin ensures that people can still use public transportation for activities and to reach the location of the Malam Muda Mudi festival. For Transjakarta bus services, there will be several routes affected, and will only operate until 7 PM.

The routes are 1H Tanah Abang - Gondangdia, 1N Tanah Abang - Blok M, 1P Senen - Blok M, 4C TU Gas - Bundaran Senayan, 5M Kampung Melayu - Tanah Abang via Cikini, 3 Kalideres - Monas via Veteran, 3F Kalideres - Gelora Bung Karno, 6B Ragunan - Balaikota via Semanggi, 9C Pinang Ranti - Bundaran Senayan, 1 Blok M - Harmoni, 1A Pantai Maju - City Hall, 2 Pulogadung - Monas, 2A Pulogadung 1 - Rawa Buaya via City Hall, 5C PGC1 - Juanda, 6D Tebet Station - Bundaran Senayan, 6M Manggarai Station - Blok M, 6V Ragunan - Gelora Bung Karno, 9D Pasar Minggu - Tanah Abang, 10H Tanjung Priok - Bundaran Senayan, and T11 Poris Plawad - Bundaran Senayan.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Commuter Train will operate until January 1, 2024, at 2 AM. Jakarta MRT will also operate until January 1, 2024, at 2 AM, with a headway of 10 minutes, except from 12 AM to 1 AM with a headway of 5 minutes. Likewise, the Jakarta LRT will operate until January 1, 2024, at 2 PM with a headway of 10 minutes.
