The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has closed access for motorized vehicles crossing the Jalan MH Thamrin and Sudirman areas.

Do not park carelessly around Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin

It has been applied since 6 PM and is conducted in stages to smoothen the Car Free Night (CFN) event. The same action is also spotted on the other 25 roads at 7 PM.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Lipuro said the disclosure was focused on Transjakarta lanes from Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin and its surroundings.

"It has been closed since 7 PM. But don't worry because the route diversion still intersects with activities and the motorists can get off at the Semanggi or Harmoni bus stops," he expressed, Sunday (12/31).

He explained as many as 25 roads closed around Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin were Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Budi Kemuliaan, Jalan Serong, and Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan. It will be ongoing until 1 AM.

To smoothen New Year's Eve celebrations, as many as 959 personnel had been alerted to the CFN event, they were also spotted in some areas that hold New Year's Eve celebration activities, such as the North Jakarta Mayor's Office, TMII, Setu Babakan, and Kota Tua.

To anticipate random parking of vehicles on the fins of Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin, his party prepared 30 tow trucks. 25 of them would be on standby at 25 points from Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin and five others in the Monas area.

"Do not park carelessly around Jalan Sudirman to Thamrin, as this is for evacuation if there is an emergency," he stressed.
