This Week, Buildings Along Cipinang Riverbank Demolished

Hundreds of buildings that stood on Cipinang Riverbank, RT 12/06, Cipinang Besar Selatan (CBS), Jatinegara, East Jakarta, will be dismantled this week. This is because the land as wide as 1 hectare planned to be used for a waterway construction from Ciliwung to East Flood Canal (KBT).

Of the 56 building owners, 31 of them had been relocated. While the remaining owners have been warned to vacant their building, considering we will do demolishment this week

Even, the East Jakarta administration had sent third warning letter to the building owners to immediately vacate their building. These owners will be relocated to Cipinang Besar Selatan Flat.

"Of the 56 building owners, 31 of them had been relocated. While the remaining owners have been warned to vacant their building, considering we will do demolishment this week," told Jatinegara Sub-District Head, Syofian Taher, Tuesday (4/7).

25 Illegal Buildings on the Channel Demolished

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana said there will be no compensation to the building owners because of the building stood atop the government's land. 

"But for those who have Jakarta ID card would be relocated to the flat," he stressed.
