3,448 Visitors Swarm Ragunan Zoo During Nyepi Holiday

The Ragunan Zoo (TMR) located on Jalan Harsono RM, Ragunan Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta was packed with 3,448 visitors during the Nyepi Day holiday, Monday (3/11).

Regunan Zoo's Service and Public Relations Officer, Wahyudi Bambang said thousands of visitors who came purchased tickets online and offline.
"Visitors come using various modes of transportation. Data from the TMR internal parking area shows that there are 414 motorbikes, 402 cars, 36 bicycles, and one tourist bus," he expressed, Tuesday (3/12).

"131 visitors are visiting the Satwa Anak Park and 475 visiting the Schmutzer Primate Center," he explained.
According to him, the Ragunan Zoo remains open on Mondays to coincide with Nyepi Day, referring to Governor Regulation No. 7/2014 on Holidays for Animals at Ragunan Wildlife Park.
"If Monday is a national holiday or public leave, the zoo will remain open. Today, we remain open from 7 AM to 4 PM, we will be closed for visits tomorrow," he added.
One of the visitors, Raka (38) admitted that he made the zoo as a recreation place on Nyepi Day because it was close to home.
"I came with my wife and children. The ticket price is cheaper and children can see the animals here, it's very educational," he stated.
