So, it's one-stop living, that's good
According to him, the concept of developing housing equipped with a market would also have an impact on increasing the economic growth of the community.
One example of the development of flats using the mixed-use development concept is the Pasar Rumput Low-Cost Apartment (Rusunawa) in Setiabudi Sub-district, South Jakarta.
Commission D Chairwoman Appeals Resident to Intensify Communal Work"Conceptually, underneath is the market, above is the residence. So, it's one-stop living, that's good," he expressed, Thursday (11/7).
He mentioned many markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya are located in strategic locations. The markets could be equipped with residential areas such as flats to help revive the economy.
"Hopefully, this mixed-use development concept can be applied in Cakung Market. So, the market can be more crowded because there are regular consumers," he explained.
He added there was a need to integrate transportation modes with residential and market areas. It was because modes of transportation that are connected to residential areas and markets will also be an attraction for the community.
Residential development with a vertical housing concept equipped with various facilities will grow the economy and become a solution to traffic jams in Jakarta.
"It can reduce the use of private vehicles, fuel consumption, pollution is also reduced, purchasing power and economic growth can grow, and vertical housing is one of the supplies of decent housing for the people of Jakarta," he uttered.
He added the DPRD will continue to encourage related parties such as the Public Housing and Settlement Area Agency (PRKP) and Perumda Pasar Jaya to realize housing development on market land.
"We ask our friends from the PRKP Agency to build communication with Perumda Pasar Jaya. Pasar Jaya itself has the desire to build such things to increase their profits, revive their market. On the other hand, the need for decent housing for residents is met," he uttered.
