Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan attended the U20 Summit 2022, which was held at the Fairmont Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (8/30).

On that occassion, the governor invited all parties to jointly pay attention to priority strategic issues.
In this case, the meeting discussed issues related to health, housing, and economic recovery, especially after more than 2 years the world has struggled against the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We all understand that in the past two years or so there has been a pandemic. We must recover and bounce back stronger and faster. That will all be put into three issues for discussion. Then we have a world that is under tremendous pressure because of our economic development," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
He also explained that his party had tried to prioritize this summit thus it could discuss the three issues. From the results of the discussion, it was expected to create the best solution.
"Right now, we are all dealing with a more real problem, which is felt by society every day. We have to say that all those present here will face more people who will live in urban areas, where these three issues go hand in hand. This is the right moment to be discussed and we will discuss it together," he explained.
He also assessed that urban life needs a arrangement, not only a matter of physical development but also by changing the behavior and lifestyle of urban people.
"Many people live in rural areas but we are facing the fact that many people are flocking to cities. So, the city is where the problem is. We all have to do this together. Hope this year's meeting can offer the solutions needed to make Jakarta a model City of the Future," he concluded.
As for the information, the meeting was also attended by Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto; Home Ministry Tito Karnavian; West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil; C40, U20 Co-convener Executive Director Mark Watts; as well as UCLGz U20 Co-convener Secretary-General Emilia Saiz.
