Central Jakarta Targets 3,903 Babies to Get PCV Vaccine

The Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency says as many as 3,903 babies are targeted to get pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) for free.

It aims to prevent pneumonia

Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Rismasari said that her sub-agency collaborated with urban village apparatus to intensify socialization in the public.

"Babies born in Central Jakarta starting from June 13, 2022 are required to get the PCV vaccine. We invite residents to take their toddlers to the sub-district or urban village health center or posyandu to be given free vaccines," she expressed, Tuesday (9/27).

Her party is targeting 3,903 babies born on June 13, 2022 to get the PCV vaccine.

"It aims to prevent pneumonia because PCV immunization can protect the baby from Streptococcus Pneumoniae bacteria," she explained.

She added that all health workers, especially in the field of immunization, in all health facilities were mobilized to provide PCV vaccination to thousands of babies in Central Jakarta.

"PCV vaccine injections are given to infants aged two, three, and 12 months," he added.

As for the information, the Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) targets 56,417 babies to get PCV vaccination.
