New Channel will Be Built on Jalan Pengantin Ali in Early June

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is set to build a water channel on Jalan Pengantin Ali, Gg Mandiri, RT 17/06, Rambutan Urban Village, Ciracas, which aims to minimize inundation when it rains.

We will execute this work by the end of May or early June

East Jakarta SDA Sub-Agency Head, Wawan Kurniawan said the channel that has 100 meters long is built to follow up on residents' request to East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar when he visited the Rambutan Urban Village.

Locals expressed that their village was often inundated up to 50-60 centimeters, as the channel could not accommodate the rainwater anymore when heavy rain occurred.

Pejompongan Connecting Channel Being Dredged from Mud

"We will execute this work by the end of May or early June," he expressed, Tuesday (1/31).

He explained the channel will use U-ditch concrete measuring 100x100 centimeters and be connected to the existing channel, then channeling water from residential areas to Cipinang River. It will be undergo an auction through an e-catalog.

Rambutan Urban Village RW 06 Chairman, Artam Aryandi expressed his gratitude for the plan to build a channel in his neighborhood. He often gets complaints from residents, as their village is inundated during heavy rains.

"Hope it could be realized as soon as possible. He also wants the govenment to conduct dredging work considering the mud that has started thick," he said.
