Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with the Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Group, planted 200 trees and scattered 10,000 fish seeds at the Cipayung Reservoir Public Cemetery (TPU), East Jakarta, Friday (11/17). It aims to deal with climate change and control air quality.
He appreciated the WIKA Group for facilitating this activity, in synergy with the Jakarta City Parks and Forest Agency, Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency, Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency, and East Jakarta Mayor.

The locals can use everything. The construction is complete and needs to be tidied up a little bit. The reservoir was built by the Jakarta SDA Agency," he expressed, as quoted by the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.
As for the information, the Cipayung Reservoir TPU has a width of 2.7 hectares. There is a reservoir as wide as 4,738 square meters at the location and a Social Agency Home as wide as 645 square meters. Then, the rest will be used as TPU and parks.
He added tree planting and reservoir construction were made to anticipate flooding in three RWs around the Cipayung area.
"Hopefully, we can control flooding when it rains," he stressed.
Further, he encouraged all parties to intensify greening massively, as trees could maintain air quality and prevent flooding.
