4,720 Tourists Visit Japanese Village on Untung Jawa Island

As many as 4,720 local and foreign tourists were recorded as having visited the Japanese Village tourist destination on Untung Jawa Island, South Seribu Islands throughout the 2023 Christmas holiday season.
Most tourists are domestic
Untung Jawa Island Puja Berhias Village's Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) Chairman, Rusli said tourists started arriving from December 23 to 26 and experienced a spike with the number of 1,971 people on Monday (12/25).
"Most tourists are domestic. They come from the ports of Muara Angke, North Jakarta, and Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang," he expressed, Wednesday (12/27).

"Tourists usually visit Arsa Beach, Sakura Beach in Japanese Village, Pengantin Bridge, and Mangrove Lagoon. Some even enjoy banana boat water sports, donut boats, water bikes, and snorkeling at Nemo Park," he explained.
Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Sonti Pangaribuan added the large number of tourists visiting is a moment for the rise of tourism in this region.
His party also continues to make efforts to organize areas on other tourist islands, thus the Seribu Islands become more global.
"We recorded 16,213 tourists visiting the Seribu Islands over the past four days. It means that the Seribu Islands are becoming increasingly well known to the wider public," she asserted.
She explained the tourists came from Muara Angke, Ancol Marina, Tanjung Pasir, and Rawasaban ports. Tourist numbers were predicted to soar at the turn of the new year.
"We, together with joint personnel, continue to provide security, thus tourists on holiday are more comfortable and safe," he stated.
