Pengprov Pelti DKI Jakarta Won the KU 16 National Championship

The Indonesian Field Tennis Association Provincial Board (Pengprov Pelti) of DKI Jakarta managed to get the first place in the KU 16 category at the National Championship (Kejurnas).

"We are very proud of young athletes who showed their extraordinary performances in this event,"

With this achievement, Pengprov Pelti DKI Jakarta deserves to bring home the Rotating Trophy of the Minister of Youth and Sports and a prize in form of a tennis equipment voucher worth Rp 25,000,000.

Pengprov Pelti DKI Jakarta Chairperson, Hari Nugroho directly received the award at the National Meeting (Rakernas) held at Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, on January 18-19, 2025.

He expressed his appreciation to all athletes, coaches, and support teams for their hard work.

"Alhamdulillah, this victory is the result of our hard work. We are very proud of young athletes who showed their extraordinary performances in this event," he said, Tuesday (1/21).

The achievement made by Pengprov Pelti DKI Jakarta in KU 16 National Championship, he added, was a commitment and clear evidence in developing tennis sports performance at the national level. 

"With great collaboration between government, coaches, and athletes, it is hoped that more achievements can be made in the next event," he stated.

In the forum, Hari Nugroho who is also the Java Regional Coordinator in PP Pelti leadership, shared his views on the progress of organizing the National Sports Week (PON) in the future.

"We recommend better regulation in developing potential athletes, especially at the regional level. This is important to create sustainable regeneration," he conveyed.

He also pointed out on the need to focus on athletes with disabilities and inclusion in tennis.

"I hope Ministry of Youth and Sports, Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) and related agencies can provide greater support for the development of facilities and opportunities for athletes with disabilities," he mentioned.

For information, athletes from DKI Jakarta who participated were Mischka Sinclair Goenadi, Joseph Owen Lauw, Naomi Gracelyn Tio, and Ahmad Yafi Alifuddin.

In the singles match, Mischka Sinclair Goenadi dominated with a score of 7-1, while Joseph Owen Lauw was beaten by Mouresi with a score of 7-5.

In the mixed doubles, the pair of Joseph Owen Lauw and Mischka Sinclair Goenadi managed to win with a tie-break score of 7-3.
